Combining Functionality
Roof design
With all black solar panels, you can transform your roof into a captivating architectural feature without the undesirable look of blue polycrystalline panels.
We fit Tier 1 Monocrystalline Panels renowned for its quality, efficiency and longevity.
Its not one size fits all with Giant Solar. We opt for maximum power when utilising your roof space but we also take extra time in all our designs to give your roof a grand and modern look.
With a selection of different solar panel sizes, we aim to achieve a precise and uniformed look matching the contour of your roof.
SOLAR PANELS
The average household consumes approx. 8-9kW a day and a standard 3.5kW Solar PV System alone can generate in excess of 8kW a day.
Now with the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments you can also sell back any excess energy not used and if you are consuming energy in the evening, you can add a Battery Storage for further savings.
We design your system taking into consideration previous energy bills but we also give our recommendations on your usage and electric appliances.
Giant Solar believes there will be huge competition amongst energy suppliers giving an advantage to Solar generators to sell their energy for higher prices.

SOLAR PANELS AND BATTERY STORAGE
Solar Panels can produce energy for you to use during the day and at the same time can charge your Solar Battery. In Summer months, dependant on the size of your system, you could be self-sufficient as energy stored in a battery can be used in the evenings/night or during the day if you are consuming a lot of electric which can charge the battery twice over.
You can also charge your battery at night by switching to cheaper off peak night time rates which is commonly half of your daytime unit rate. Giant Solar will carefully configure each system according to customer requirements for optimum savings.
Including a Mobile App, you can see your savings on the go and make necessary changes for winter and summer months.
The illustration shows an example of a Solar Panel and Battery System installed on its first day coming into the winter months with only a 2.5Kw System of 6 Solar Panels. The customer in this example uses on average 3-4kW a day.
Yellow shade represents electricity demand, green shade represents solar generation from panels and the blue shade represents the battery being charged/discharged.
The graph shows how the battery is charged from the solar panels during peak hours and discharged in the evening with no import costs from approx. 8.30am to midnight.
In Summer months, subject to usage and size of your solar/battery system, your solar generation can top up a battery in a matter of 2 hours. By default, your generation will first be used to meet your demand with excess energy stored in the battery and exported when full. We can tailor this to customer requirements.
Giant Solar will also factor in charging at lower rates at off peak hours, but our first priority is to maximise your solar array and battery size to cover as much of your import costs for self-sufficiency.
